Process Improvement / Cost Reduction
When a major Medicaid fiscal agent client needed to reduce ongoing MMIS operational costs, the company turned to S2Tech whose employees comprised the majority of the account’s MMIS Maintenance and Modification Team. Working closely with client technical and administrative staff, S2Tech established a technical process improvement team to analyze the MMIS’ claims adjudication functions. By the end of six months, the team was able to reduce the overall CPU hours for many claims adjudication models by an astounding 98 percent, resulting in an overall cost savings ratio of approximately 8 to 1 between the CPU expenses reduced and the additional expenses incurred for the process improvement team.
